Perhaps the worst lyrics ever written
So Ike and I were playing Donkey Konga this past weekend, and we drummed to a song that I recognized from Super Smash Brothers Melee: the Donkey Kong Rap. I listed to the lyrics, and they were so bad that I wanted to open up the GameCube and puke inside it. Here they are off some website. Enjoy...

    Donkey
    Tiny
    Lanky
    Diddy
    Chunky

    H-H-H... Here we go!
So they're finally here, performing for you
If you know the words, you can join in too
Put your hands together if you want to clap
As we take you through this fun-ky rap! HUH!

    D. K.! Donkey Kong!

He's the leader of the bunch. You know him well.
He's finally back to kick some tail!
His coconut gun can fire in spurts
If he shoots ya, [Monkey Yell] it's gonna hurt!
He's bigger! faster! and stronger too!
He's the first member of the DK crew!
    D. K.! Donkey Kong! HEY!
    D. K.! Donkey Kong is here!

This Kong's got style, so listen up dudes!
She shrinks in size to suit her mood!
She's quick n' nimble when she needs to be
She floats in air and climbs up trees!
If you choose her, you won't choose wrong
With a skip and a hop, she's ONE COOL KONG!
    D. K.! Donkey Kong!

He has no style, he has no grace
This Kong... has a funny face
He can handstand when he wants to
And stretch his arms out just for you!
In-flate himself just like a balloon
This cra-zy Kong just digs this tune! HEY!
    D. K.! (D. K.!) Donkey Kong!
    D. K.! (D. K.!) Donkey Kong is here!

He's back again, and about time, too
And this time, he's in the mood!
    He can fly real high
    With his jetpack on...
With his pistols out, he's one tough Kong!
He can make you smile when you hear his tune...
    But, Kremlings beware
    'Cause he's out after you!
    D. K.! Donkey Kong!
    D. K.! Donkey Kong!
    (fading)
    D. K.! Donkey Kong!
    D. K...

    Fi-nal-ly, he's here for you!
It's the LAST member of the D. K. crew!
This Kong's... so strong, it isn't funny!
Can make a Kremling cry out for Mummy!
He can pick up a boulder with relative ease
Makes crushing rocks seem such a breeze
He may move slow; he can't jump high
But this Kong's one heck of a guy! Hehehe...

    Come on Cranky!
    Take it to the stage!

    Walnuts, peanuts, pineapple smells!
Grapes, melons, oranges, and coconut shells!
    Walnuts, peanuts, pineapple smells!
    Oh, yeah!

    Does Fiction Exist?
    Making some assumptions that

    a) there is life out there on a very large number of planets besides our own, and
    b) a good percentage of those have or will have intelligent life, and
    c) there are an infinite number of other universes (parallel or not),

I was thinking that fiction might not exist, because, with such assumptions in place, literally anything you can think of did, does, or will exist or take place in some location in some universe. These are unproven assumptions, but the idea of it is intriguing.

    United 93
Jess and I went to see Lucky Number Slevin last night, which was a pretty good movie. Beforehand, however, there was an ad for United 93, an upcoming movie about 9/11. Here's the website:

    www.united93movie.com

The ad pissed both of us off. Sure it happened 4½ years ago, but it still feels too soon. If they want to make a movie about it in 20 years, to remind everyone and to give the younger audience a better understanding of what happened, that would be one thing. This, though, just feels like a greedy attempt to make a lot of money off of the innocents who were crushed, blown up, or burned to death on that day. It seems the movie focuses on the plane that didn't reach it's target, but that doesn't make it any more acceptable in my mind.

The freedoms we have in this country are a wonderful thing, but they come with great responsibility. Those making this film are exhibiting the worst lack of judgement with exercising their freedoms, in my opinion. I have no desire to ever see this movie.

How do you all feel about this?

    Goddamn
In the waiting room at the dentist's today, I was looking at a magazine that had several images of different things in the universe. One was our own Milky Way, with this same image:

It said that our sun is just 1 of 400 billion stars in our galaxy (yeah, that picture represents that many stars). That seems like a lot, until I read that there are 70 sextillion (70,000,000,000,000,000,000,000) stars in the known universe, which means that our 400,000,000,000 stars are only 0.00000000000571% of the known stars.

I know this is pretty much stuff we heard in grade school, but it still blows my mind. It makes me think of the things that Jodie Foster's character said in Contact, which went something like, "If only 1 in a million planets could sustain life, and if only 1 in a million of those planets actually had life, then that would be billions of planets besides ours that have life." If that theoretical math were applied to the 70 sextillion stars, assuming that they each had 1 planet, it would mean that 70 billion planets out there have life on them. Life on another planet has yet to be proven by anyone on our own rock, but it makes you think.

    Robo on a Chocobo
I made this for Mr. bkerr for his birthday a few years back:

It's just some fan art from a guy who has little talent for original art and decent skills at artistic mimicry, but big heart for the video games involved. Robo was mostly inspired by Square art, and this particular Chocobo was an original. I posted it here mainly for the fans of Chrono Trigger, but Final Fantasy enthusiasts may enjoy it as well. Of course if you like both, it might just make your day. ^_^
